WWE SummerSlam 2026 at U.S. Bank Stadium: Where to Stay in Downtown Minneapolis (August 1–2)

Minneapolis lands one of the biggest events on the wrestling calendar this summer: WWE SummerSlam comes to U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, 2026. It’s a two-night, stadium-sized spectacle, and it’s going to pull wrestling fans from across the country into downtown Minneapolis for a full weekend.

If you’re one of them, here’s the part that matters almost as much as your tickets: where you’ll sleep. Downtown fills up fast on big stadium weekends. Oaklands on 9th sits at 215 South 9th Street — about a 15-minute walk from the stadium doors — and our furnished studios book by the night, the week, or the month.

SummerSlam 2026: The Details

SummerSlam runs two nights, August 1–2, at U.S. Bank Stadium (401 Chicago Avenue). The official U.S. Bank Stadium event page has showtimes and ticket links, including the two-day combo tickets WWE released this spring. Expect a full evening of matches each night, and plan for late finishes on both Saturday and Sunday.

That two-night format changes the travel math. This isn’t a show you drive home from at midnight and come back for the next afternoon — nearly everyone traveling in needs at least two nights of lodging, and downtown rooms will be the first to go.

Stay a 15-Minute Walk From U.S. Bank Stadium

Oaklands on 9th is a restored 1889 brownstone turned furnished studio apartment hotel in the heart of downtown. Every studio comes with a full kitchen, WiFi, all utilities, and free laundry included — and there are no contracts, so you can stay just the weekend or settle in for the week. Some studios are pet friendly, and our three tiers (Good, Better, Best) fit most budgets.

Getting to the matches is simple: walk east through downtown, or ride the METRO Blue Line straight to U.S. Bank Stadium Station. And a full kitchen earns its keep on a wrestling weekend — breakfast at home before the card, and late-night food after the main event without standing in a single line.

Make It a Full Minneapolis Weekend

With matches in the evenings, your days are wide open. Walk the Stone Arch Bridge and the Mill District, browse Nicollet Mall, or graze your way through a Saturday farmers market — our summer farmers market guide covers the two best ones near downtown. For more ideas, Meet Minneapolis keeps a running list of what’s happening around the city.

Traveling with someone who’d rather sightsee than watch suplexes? A narrated ride with Minneapolis Trolley Tours is an easy afternoon. And if you want to bookend the weekend with a quieter, more romantic night, our sister property 300 Clifton is a Gilded Age mansion bed & breakfast just south of downtown.

Plan Ahead: Ed Sheeran Plays the Same Stadium on August 15

Two weeks after SummerSlam, Ed Sheeran’s LOOP Tour stops at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday, August 15, 2026 (5:30 PM, with Myles Smith and Lukas Graham). The same advice applies: concert weekends fill downtown quickly, so if you’re coming in for the show, lock in your stay early.

Ready to book your SummerSlam (or Ed Sheeran) weekend? Reserve your furnished studio at Oaklands on 9th, or call us at (612) 314-5124 — we’re happy to help you pick the right studio for your stay.
