They did it! Justin and Jake passed their inspections for the HVAC. They have been working on the project for well over a year, and now the Oaklands has a brand new, safe and efficient, heating AND cooling system. The boiler system was destroyed in the freezing winters when the Oaklands sat abandoned and dormant. Jake and Justin installed a mini-split system which allowed each apartment to have its own heating and cooling unit with no ductwork through the building. There are no ugly vents sticking out the side of the historic building, and no AC units hanging out the windows in the summertime. The mini-splits work really great, are quiet and toasty warm all winter. They are equipped with fancy thermostats that glow red when they are heating. It is a huge accomplishment and one of the most significant upgrades to position the Oaklands favorably for another chapter.
