It was too wet and rainy to dig the sewer, so we worked on the History Wall. Of course Lisa Goodman has a spot of honor on the wall, celebrating a lifetime of Historic Preservation. Can you believe that in her term, just in Ward 7, over 150 buildings have been restored, and more than 200 have been protected? It is an astounding accomplishment. It includes the Hennepin Theater Trust and all the theaters protected under that umbrella, the Harmon Historic District, our very own Oaklands, 300 Clifton, a dozen huge downtown buildings, Peavey Plaza, and on and on. A book needs to be written just on the creative preservation projects that have occurred in Ward 7 in the 21st Century. It is something we should all be proud of. Thanks Lisa!
